What is it?
The FA Charter Standard Programme was launched in February
2001 with the aim of setting minimum standards of coaching, administration
and child protection for clubs. The project is at the heart of The Football
Association's investment programme for grassroots football that will see
millions of pounds spent each year to improve facilities and coaching across
the country. Many Grants and Funding Opportunities provided by the FA and
the Football Foundation are only available to clubs who have gained, or are
working toward, Charter Standard.
CHARTER STANDARD AIMS TO:
Provide a nationally recognised quality control 'kite mark'.
Improve the quality of provision for everyone.
Sustain participation for players for a longer time.
Raise standards.
There are 4 levels of Charter Standard.
Charter Standard
Charter Standard Adult
Charter Development
Charter Community
Each Level depends upon the size, type and ambition of the club.
In 2003/4 Wrenthorpe Rangers JFC was awarded the Charter Development
Standard which recognized the efforts and hard work of many involved in
growing the Club and establishing a solid foundation and Club culture which
will sustain the future growth of the Club. Wrenthorpe Rangers became one of
the first Clubs in the area to achieve the Development Standard Club Award.

The club aspires to reach the status of Community Club Award and is making
excellent progress to reaching its goal. With over 26 qualified Level 1
coaches, 2 Level 2 coaches, the re-introduction of Girls Football and Open
Age Football the Club is looking to realise its aspiration before the end of
the current playing season which will be a fitting start to celebrating the
Clubs 10th Anniversary. |
